Roadworthy Certificate
A safety certificate (otherwise known as a roadworthy certificate) is needed when a registered light vehicle is offered for sale in Queensland, or when re-registering an unregistered vehicle.
Taxi & Uber Inspection
All taxis, limousines and ride-booking vehicles, such as Uber, are required to have a yearly certificate of inspection (otherwise known as a COI), unless exempt, to ensure they meet their safety obligations.
Pre-Purchase Car Inspection
The pre-purchase inspection is a detailed report of a car's condition – for buyers this provides reassurance and peace of mind, for sellers, this can increase a vehicle’s potential value when negotiating price.
HVRAS
Any trailer over 750kgs ATM or heavy vehicle over 4.5 tonne GVM and over that is not currently registered in Queensland requires a HVRAS inspection to be able to register the trailer or heavy vehicle. This is a separate inspection to a a roadworthy certificate.
Certificate Of Inspection (COI)
If your vehicle is over 4.5 tonne, you are required to obtain a COI. According to Queensland Transport regulations, truck and heavy vehicle owners must obtain a yearly COI for registration purposes which ensures the safety of the vehicle.
Gas Certificate
If your vehicle has an LPG system, you are required to have a gas certificate to register or transfer ownership of it. A gas certificate is valid for 3 months and it is the responsibility of the seller to obtain that certificate to ensure that equipment is safe.
